Call for Papers: Journal Environmental Justice
Manuscript Submission Deadline: July 2
By Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., 2018-04-11

Since the new American administration took power, there have been many changes to the environmental regulatory and policy landscape; along with unusual environmental and climate-linked catastrophes and disasters.

Every community now potentially faces higher risks for the types of environmental health issues that were previously confined to poor, ethnic, and socially marginalized populations. Have we now reached a point where more privileged socioeconomical groups can learn from the struggles of the environmental justice issues that were largely previously limited to these marginalized groups? The protection of environmental health for all Americans was at the heart of environmental regulations since their creation beginning with President Nixon. The lack of equal enforcement for every community was the basis for EJ struggles.

In light of reduced enforcement, what can and what should communities do NOW to avoid environmental inequalities for ALL?

For our upcoming special issue on the New Politics of Environmental Justice, we welcome submissions from concerned scientists, experts, and intellectuals over this changing landscape of environmental policies.

In the CfP for the topic of "The New Politics of Environmental Justice", the journal seeks papers that will address how new changes in environmental policies will impact the global landscape in a broader context, as well as further impact to those already struggling with environmental justice problems.

Topics of consideration include, but are not limited to:

  • Environmental Health
  • Climate Change
  • Environmental Education
