EJ in Municipalities DIFU closes project on Environmental Justice in Municipalities The DIFU (German Institute of Urban Affairs) carried out a research project, funded by Umweltbundesamt (Environmental Protection Agency), that aimed to develop strategies for the implementation of environmental justice in local government and administration. Elements of the project have been the identification of indicators, an analysis of the potential of existing instruments in urban planning to reach environmental justice and a planning game on environmental justice carried out in the following German cities: district of Friederichshain-Kreuzberg
in Berlin, Bottrop, Düsseldorf, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Nürnberg.
